Apr 15, 2012. #1. G'day, I had an idea for a lifting jig for removing/ installing the engine. It's based on adjustable lifting forks we use on job sites for craning pallets to different areas. Re: Help needed roll over jig. Hey thats my one! I got it from EscortRS Dave V. I can go measure it for ya over weekend. I've modified it a the front so that a front panel can go on without removing the spit. The other thing was to link the front and back at base to stop outward movement but if it don't move much like over rough concrete it's ok.

It is easier to use a timing jig to set the timing spot on in one shot. If you do not have a timing jig you can ballpark it by using a pencil in the spark plug hole, roll the engine to TDC and adjust the points to open just before TDC at .020. This will get you close enough to run and you can fine tune from there.
