I'm getting an irregular (about 1/4" wide) line down the middle of the work piece. I changed the graphite but it didn't help. Any help would be appreciated. Hold the club horizontal and start turning it the opposite way the belt is spinning and slowly bring the ferrule up to the belt. What you get shouldn't be the finish product it just trims the ferrule and shapes it a little. To finish spin the hosel in a scotch brite pad to scuff it up and then finish it with acetone.

I usually turn the piece two more times and sand for a total of about 15-20 minutes. Or until I get tired. Then you need to do the pinch test. Pinch your felt and see if the fibers pull apart.
