Typically, the clinker cooler releases large volumes of air at 250-340˚C directly into the atmosphere. Preheater kiln gases, which reach temperatures of 300-400˚C, are used to dry materials in the raw and/or coal mill and are then sent for dedusting before being released into the atmosphere.

Streams of raw meal and collected dust flow through the raw meal silo and are then fed into the rotary kiln (blue arrow in Fig. 6). Exact proportioning is dependent upon their chemical properties before and after calcining to cement clinker. Our Challenge: Two kiln ends needed pollution control, but there was no space for two bag filters (baghouses).
